Aimed at ST3s, Staff Grades in Gastroenterology and Surgery and Trainee Nurse Endoscopists, this is an intensive 2 day course with e-learning focusing on individuals scoping technique.
Equipping delegates with basics for safe practice and providing support and constructive feedback, there is plenty of opportunity to practice your skills on specifically designed models and patients. Applicants will be expected to be in a relevant placement and have access to 6 months’ worth of Endoscopy lists after the course date.
I like the relaxed environment and the fact the trainers treated everyone as equals who had relevant experiences to share
Applicants will need to complete a pre-course assessment and need to obtain the approval of their Educational Supervisor.
All applications are reviewed by the faculty for approval before a place is allocated.
Excellent course. Excellent organisation. Good amount of theoretical and hands on teaching. Very clear information giving. Opportunity to ask questions. Good use of time on the course. Right level of intensity, with very little wasted time.
Quality of simulation exceeded my expectations. I felt this was most useful part of the day, as this experience has not been paralleled so far in any of my training. Very grateful for useful introductions to endoscopy, all the talks/lectures were accompanied by useful demonstrations and pictures to aid understanding. Appreciated hands on time on the models, the opportunity to apply knowledge from the lectures and also was surprised when I benefitted from the opportunity to watch others learn scope techniques - felt that this improved my experience of my own practical simulation. I really appreciated the career advice from the trainers.
